We believe that Everybody Sells

We believe that every interaction is, at some level, "selling".  When people work together,  conveyance of information and persuasion/influence/agreement are important.  When people are unable to present ideas, gain buy-in, and work collaboratively with others, time, money and good ideas are lost.  From this perspective, the sales meeting and the technical review meeting are very similar events - both contain elements of presentation, discussion, persuasion, and hopefully concurrence resulting in action.

We also see the classical "Sales" function as a holistic corporate responsibility.  Every person that interfaces with a customer or prospect contributes to that person's perception of your company, and in so doing, contributes to the ultimate decision to work with you... or not.  In some cases, the most important people to a sale are not on the sales team but rather work with product engineering, the consulting/services delivery team, customer support, or part of the non-sales management team.  Whether we like it or not, everybody is in sales.  The important question is "Are they good at it?"

Historically, our participants have come from a mix of sales and non-sales functional roles.  On average, about 20% of our training has been delivered to sales team members and 80% to people outside of a sales or sales support role.
