Philosophy
As we've grown we've come to realize that some of our guiding principles and philosophies are unique within our industry. We think that part of the reason we are different is because we see the world a little differently. Here are some of the things we believe.
Integrity is key to success.
You can't promote or sell what you don't believe in - no matter how hard you try. People are too perceptive to overlook your doubts and concerns relative to them. And duplicity is not an option. The truth will always leak out. We tell it as it is, and we teach our workshop participants to do the same - tactfully, with power and conviction that builds credibility and loyalty.
Training has no implicit value.
The only value of training is the measurable results created by the participants as a product of the work we've done with them. In order for training to be successful we must be very deliberate about what success will look like from the outset, and then we must focus on making it happen throughout the process.
Success is relative.
At the corporate level, success is having a measurable impact on the predetermined success criteria. We work on our customer's initiatives, and we charter ourselves to make a tangible difference.
At the personal level, success is measured by the permanent and lasting changes we can observe in the participants with whom we work. Every one of them.
Training is a process, not an event.
We want our participants not only to know what has been taught, but to use it! This implicitly means that our business is one of promoting change. Good training is not information or education, but rather transformation. And change is a process - it doesn't happen as the result of a workshop. Our programs embrace this idea. The training starts long before the actual training "event", and continues long afterwards with coaching, follow-up programs, and open door access to our facilitators. Some of the best learning and change happens in the workplace, not the classroom, so we make sure we're there to help the process along.
Change is a product of Content and Context.
We've found that good ideas presented out of the context of a person's daily job have very little value to that person. Context is often more important than content! We customize our programs, both to fit the corporate messages and to fit the individual and their own daily challenges. Transformation happens when the individual understands the relevance of the content to them, and can gain personal benefits from it immediately.
Everyone Sells.
Everyone in every position in a company has a selling role whether they are aware of it or not. It may be internal or external. It may be better phrased as "influence" or "persuasion". But "selling" is a natural imperative of operating within groups of people. The more effective we are at interpersonal influence, persuasion, selling and leadership, the more effective we are at our job. We've also found that everyone can be very effective. It's just a matter of knowing how to help them get there.
Diversity is reality. Embrace it.
As a company, Syntuity lives this fact every day... meet our people. It is imperative that our programs transcend language, culture and background. Companies can't create global change with local solutions. We foster diversity because it gives us deep understanding of the challenges of our global clients who must also transcend language, culture and background to create results.
Practicality will beat great ideas every day.
One of the best compliments we get from participants is how practical, pragmatic, and immediately useful our programs are. We focus on the subtle details of how to put ideas to use, and include rich and engaging "role play" to assure participants are given the tools to use what was learned the minute they leave a workshop.
Innovation is mandatory.
We heard a quote that stuck with us not too long ago... "If you are still doing things today the way you did them 3 years ago, you can't expect to be a leader in your industry." We believe innovation is key to success in learning and development. We make a significant investment to assure that our "Virtual Classroom" events are every bit as effective, engaging and appealing to our participants as our in-person live events. And it pays. Our clients realize millions of dollars of benefit by eliminating travel expenses and workday interruptions while reaching beyond borders and time zones to foster teamwork, personal growth and success.
